sauna

To enjoy the sauna experience to its maximum, follow these simple guidelines:

sauna
  • Remove Clothing, Jewellery & contact lenses if worn.
  •
  • Put on suitable swimwear.
  •
  • Shower before using the sauna
  •
  • Take a towel into the sauna to sit on, as this is more comfortable and hygienic.
  •
  • Breathe gently, through the mouth, when entering the sauna to protect the delicate tissues in the nose.
  •
  • The sauna temperature should be present by the operator at around 85-90c.
  •
  • Commence the sauna treatment by sitting on the low benches until you feel comfortable enough to progress to the upper levels, where it is hotter.
  •
  • Don't overdo it, stay only for a few minutes at a time, with a cooling shower in between.
  •
  • Don't add any additional essences into the room as this is already being supplied onto the sauna coals.
  •
  • Thirty minutes is probably the total time you should spend in the sauna, but cease if you feel uncomfortable or light headed.
  •
  • When you have finished your session, take a cooling shower and relax for a few minutes to allow the body to return to its normal temperature. A cooling drink will help to replace some of the fluids lost whilst in the sauna (not alcohol).
  •
  • If you are using the sauna following the use of the swimming pool or spa pool, please shower before entering the sauna, to remove the chlorinated pool water which can damage the timber benches.

Multi Colour Lighting

Multi colour lighting uses the proven benefits of light therapy to stimulate or relax the brain, based upon the findings of Dr Harold Brost of Frankfurt University.

Different colours have different effects upon the brain based upon the wavelength of the particular colour as follows:

Green: Inner harmony, contentment, calming, soothing of the nerves, rejuvenates the skin.

Blue: The colour of peace and contentment, calm, enjoyment, soothing to the nervous system, and also beneficial as a pick me up when feeling run down.

Red: The colour of life force, strength, commitment and will. Strengthens vitality, motivation, increases circulation and regulates blood pressure.

Orange: The colour of joy and happiness, creativity, impulsiveness and self-awareness.
