sauna

The steam room differs from the sauna in both temperature and humidity, with a typical operating temperature normally in the region of 40-45c, with virtually 10% humidity

This "softer" heat and increased humidity is often preferred as it is less drying on the skin. To enjoy the steam experience to its maximum, follow these simple guidelines.

sauna
  • Remove clothing, jewellery and contact lenses if worn.
  •
  • Put on suitable swimwear
  •
  • Shower before using the steam room
  •
  • The steam room temperature should be present by the operator at around 48-50c
  •
  • Don't over do it, stay only for a few minutes at a time, with a cooling shower in between.
  •
  • The steam room may have essences such as eucalyptus and menthol added to the steam room to benefit breathing, or other fragrances to help you unwind and relax, so do not add any of your own essences while in the steam room.
  •
  • Thirty minutes is probably the total time you should spend in the steam room, but cease if you feel uncomfortable or light headed.
  •
  • When you have finished your session, take a cooling shower and relax for a few minutes to allow the body to reach its normal temperature, a cooling drink will help to replace some of the fluids (not alcohol)

Benefits of Using Hot Treatments Rooms
